How is big rig windshield care different from regular care?
- Experienced big rig truck drivers recognize that they should not trail other big rigs too closely in bad road conditions. This minimizes the likelihood of rocks kicking up.
- Semi truck drivers park in safe areas away from natural hazards or potential vandals.
- Your big rig windshield cracks or chips are repaired right now.
Semi truck drivers and big rig truck drivers will hold commercial insurance. Commercial truck insurance policies will have various levels of tolerable equipment conditions than normal car insurance policies. Whenever a truck driver sees a glass issue, they ought to get it fixed promptly. This will keep their truck in excellent standing with the commercial insurance policy. Big rig windshields are constructed to last. However, if you operate a commercial truck or van, you understand that the risk you will face of damage as you log a lot of highway miles is a bit more than the risk a driver of an economy car will face.

Who Is Responsible For My Vehicle While At The Dealership For Repairs?
My Car Was Towed To The Dealer At 1030 Pm By My Insurance Company After A Gasket Exploded, Causing The Vehicle To Overheat. It Was Inoperable And I Was Not At Home. The Only Place My Insurance Will Take It To Is A Repair Center, And The Dealer Was Both The Nearest One, And The One Where There Was A Chance For Warrantied. Before Leaving I Cleared Out All Visible Valuables From My Car. At 7 Am I Got A Call Asking What Was Going On With My Vehicle And Telling Me That The Window Had Been Smashed. My Insurance Said It Fell Under The Deductible (Which It Did). They Are Saying They Take No Responsibility. I Took All Available Precautions. Does This Really Boil Down To My Responsibility?
Note: I Think This May Have Been A Political Crime As Other Cars With Similar Stickers Were Damaged Last Night Also. I Still Have Not Seen My Car But I Was Told That It Was Just A Window And A Bag Of Trash Was Scattered About. Sounds More Like Vandalism Than Theft.
In my experience when a shop or dealer has possession of your car they are responsible for anything happening to it including damage & thief.
Was the window broken before it was towed to the dealer or did it happen after it got there? I'd question the towing service that took your car there and get a statement.
From the moment the tow truck hooked on to your car and moved it away it was no longer in your possession.
Good Luck man

I Need Help Asap! Please And Thank You
Repairing a Wet
The other day our youngest son had
his mom’s iPod Touch with him as he
headed to the bathroom. Resting the
device near the sink seemed safe. That is,
until he started washing his hands.
Moments later he came back out and
handed a soaking wet iPod to his mom.
Fearing the worst we fired it up and were
happy to see that it was still working. But
on further inspection it was clear that
there was some moisture under the
Never fear, we have a fix for that!
Actually, this works for iPods, cell
phones, and pretty much any small
electronic advice that’s a little bit wet.
Put this tip in your arsenal.
Step One: Power off the device as soon
as possible. For an iPod that just means
shutting it down. But if it has a battery
or is connected to a power supply… turn
it off quickly!
Step Two: Dry it off as well as possible
with what is visible to you. Don’t take
anything apart. Don’t shake it. Just get it
dry as possible with a towel.
Step Three: Wrap it in a paper towel and
place it a ziplock bag. Don’t seal the
ziplock bag! That’ll just make things
Step Four: Place the bag in a window sill
or on the dashboard of your car.
Step Five: Give it some time. A day
usually seems to do the trick.
Step Six: Take it out of the bag and fire
Typically, this process will remove
moisture from circuitry. If it doesn’t fire
up it’s safe to say that you have cooked a
board or something like that. You can try
the process again but if it doesn’t turn
on at all it’s not looking good. For us,
this process has fixed several phones
and, we’re happy to report, removed
moisture from mommy’s iPod screen.
What if this doesn’t work? If there is a
major problem and this didn’t work I’d
suggest talking to my friends at The Pod
Drop . Seriously, these guys are better
than Apple repair. Typically, Apple will
just give you a new one and if isn’t under
warranty they will tell you to buy a new
one. I’ve seen it myself, the folks at The
Pod Drop can bring back almost any DOA
iPod. Even better , if they look at it and it
can’t be repaired they will likely buy it
from you for parts and apply that
towards the purchase of a new one.
Used Truck Parts And Suggestions?
I Just Bought A Used Truck And It Needs A Litttle Help. Nothing Major But I'M Looking For Good (And Cheap) Websites To Purchase A Few Odds And Ends.
I Need New Window Crank Handles, Hub Caps, Etc... Also, There Is A Lot Of Rust Over The Wheel Wells. Don'T They Make Some Kinds Of Black Plastic Cover/Trim That I Could Install Over The Rust? I Know I'Ve Seen It On Other Trucks But Not Sure What Its Called.
There is also a part line called "help" that makes aftermarket replacement window handles and misc stuff like that.
Help products are sold at most auto parts stores..
they have all kinds of odds and end parts...
