In The State Of Fl If You Have A Cracked Window Shield Do You Have To Pay For It ?
My Window Shield Was Cracked By A Pick Up Truck On The Highyway; Some Gravel From The Truck Hit The Window. But Do I Have To Pay For That, Or Willmy Insurance Pay For It. Also, I Heard That You Get 3 Free Window Fixs A Year.
Some posts are incorrect and some slightly correct...
As long as you have comprehensive coverage under your policy, the insurance company will pay the entire bill. Florida statute states that the insurance company is _required_ to waive the deductible for all windshield damage (it might need to be repaired or replaced). But the key is _you have to have the coverage on the policy_, comprehensive coverage. No comprehensive coverage, no deductable waiver, no claim.
There are about 9 states that require the insurance companies to waive the deductible. Florida it applies only to windshield. Other states it applies to all glass.
Also, most insurance companies will waive the comprehensive dedutible (again, you have to have the coverage) if the windshield is _repaired_... even if the state does not require it. If the windshield needs to be replaced, the deductible applies. They do this to incourage a repair, which cost them about $15. If they have to pay for the replacement, even after the deductible, they will end up paying several hundred dollars.
What'S Wrong With My Dodge Ram Wipers?
Alright So Here We Go The Classic It Snowed Pretty Heavy The Other Day And I Let My Truck Warm Up With The Defroster On And I Cleaned Off The Snow From The Windshield And Went To Try My Wipers... Nothing So I **** Them Of But I Noticed They Kept Trying To Move And A Little While Into My Drive They Finally Broke Free And Did Their Pass Thru And Stopped. And Then On The Highway I Used Them To Clean Off The Windshield A Few Times And They Worked Fine. So I Shut My Truck Off When I Got To Work Come Back Out End Of The Day And I Have Ice Down My Windshield So I Obviously Didn'T Even Turn On The Wipers I Just Let The Heat Take Care It But Then Even When It Melted The Wipers Had Now Stopped... Got Home Checked The Fuse It Was Blown. Put A Fresh One In And Just As I Turned The Key Even With The Wipers Off I Heard The Fuse Pop. Same Thing Every Time. What'S Going On With It? I Can'T Figure This One Out
Probably you tried to run the wipers while they were frozen solid, and you stripped the nylon gears or tore up the motor. Buy replacement wiper motor assembly from junkyard or ebay, install is easy -- you tube it or buy the HAYNES manual if necessary.
