Ways that truck glass varies from normal auto glass.
- Semi truck drivers are instructed to avoid following other big rigs that generally kick up rocks on low-quality highways and roadways.
- Semi truck drivers park in safe areas far away from natural hazards or potential vandals.
- Your big rig windshield cracks or chips are fixed right away.
Semi truck drivers and big rig truck drivers will hold commercial insurance. Commercial truck insurance policies will have different levels of acceptable equipment conditions than regular car insurance policies. Whenever a truck driver notices a glass problem, they have to get it dealt with right away. This will keep their truck in desirable standing with the commercial insurance policy. Big rig windshields are built to last. While that may hold true, trucks normally log more highway miles than cars. For that reason the probability of experiencing a glass chip or crack is much higher.

Whats Wrong With This Truck?
Its A 1990 Chevy Pickup 1500 That Still Runs Well If And When You Can Start It, Which Hasnt Been A Problem Until Recently. We Cleaned The Brand New Battery Holes And Put Grease The Connection Thingys To Prevent Further Dust Build Up. But Now Its Not Working Again And We Dont Know Why.
The Ignition Switch Is All Messed Up And Loose So Could That Be The Problem? Its Gotten Worse Over Time But Never Has Been A Problem Before.
Also Is It Possible To Replace Your Own Windshield N Stuff Properly? Cuz We Obviously Dont Have Much Money For Repairs And The Entire Window Needs To Go.
If So, How.
first the basics,
an ignition tune up and a serviceable battery (which can be load tested for free at any auto parts store), connections, neg&pos, all the way down to the starter. and at least one engine to chassis ground somewhere.
since it has had some history of hard starting, as mentioned above, check the actual ignition switch under dash atop the column. they tend to melt ignition wires and even the switch itself. look at adjacent wires as well.
that issue is not uncommon. Bandit knows. thumbs!
i'd go to you tube for a DIY on glass replacement. but review many. i've found different clips may have different tips that another may not mention.
@ Paul, respectfully. yes it's an insulator. also a conductor. but in this instance the occupying properties are exactly what's needed. grease can occupy the minute air spaces to help eliminate corrosion. if the connector is fastened securely.
What Are My Rights When A Repair Shop Damages My Vehicle And Leaves Unsafe?
My New Truck Has An Issue Where The Back Window Painted Trim Started Peeling. I Took It To The Dealership And They Weren'T Sure If It Was Vandalism Or A Defect But They Fixed It. When I Got My Truck Back I Found The Back Seat Was Missing A Bolt And The Other Bolts Were Left Barely In Place. There Was Also A Dent In The Doorway From Where The Seat Was Dropped When The Removed The Seat. The Dealership Had The Work Outsourced To A Local Glass Shop. I Spoke To The Glass Shop And He Kept Saying He Had No Reason To Doubt The Dealership Wasn'T Telling The Truth When They Say He Did It But He Says It So Often It Sounds Like He Does. In Any Case He Offered Me How Much It Would Cost To Repair It In His Shop Which Of Course It Much Cheaper Than The Market Rate. He Even Said I Could Write A Letter And Get A An Estimate But They Aren'T Going To Pay What It Was Cost To Get It Repaired Elsewhere. These People Left My Vehicle Damaged In Damaged And Even In Dangerous Shape Because If I Had Not Noticed The Back Seat And I Got In A Wreck With Someone Back There The Seat Would Have Come Loose Possibly Killing The Passengers. The Glass Shop Seemed Indifferent About The Whole Thing. I Have Pictures Of The Dent And The Seat Right After I Picked Up The Vehicle And The Dealership Confirms They Did Not Do Any Work Back There. Does Anyone Know My Rights. Should I Consider A Law Suite For Negligence The Could Have Resulted In Death. Do I Even Have Any Rights?
1. No lawyer will take this case because its not worth their time..........
2. You need to open a claim against the dealership through the manufacturer and that way you will have everything taken care of...
3. Open claims against any dealer if not resolved can hurt them in what they call the (point system) which can add up quickly.......
How Do I Replace The Top Sliding Rear Window In A John Deere 310Sg Backhoe/Loader?
Broke Window And Have Replacement. Does The Window Just Need To Be Flexed In? Doesn'T Seem Like There Is Any Real Easy Way To Get It In. About A Half Of An Inch Needs To Be Flexed To Get The Window In And I Am Worried About Breaking The New Window. Has Anybody Ever Rplaced On Of These, And If So, Any Pointers?
=== for your protection it should be safety plate glass --- can you push up into place and it fit into the bottom sliding track [[[ ok, don't fuss at me if you already tried that ]]] take the glass piece to a auto glass store and get it cut down to fit properly .............
