How is big rig windshield care different from regular care?
- Semi truck drivers are taught to avoid following other big rigs that often kick up pebbles on low-quality highways and roadways.
- Prevention is important and truck drivers recognize that. Therefore, they normally park in protected areas.
- Truck drivers are specialists. The moment they do get a chip or crack in their windshields, they get it fixed immediately.
One key contrast, however, is commercial vehicle insurance. To adhere to higher insurance criteria, truck drivers must get their glass fixed when they experience an issue. Click for Windshield Replacement information.
Big rig windshields are constructed to last. However, if you drive a commercial truck or van, you recognize that the risk you will face of damage as you log a lot of highway miles is a bit more than the risk a driver of an economy car will face.

What Needs To Be Removed When Replacing A Front Windshield On A 1998 F-150?
I Had My Front Windshield Replaced And When I Got My Truck Back The Dashboard Was Cracked And Loose And Even Around The Radio. Do They Have To Do Anything To The Dashboard In Order To Put In Window. I Am Going To Take It Back And Have Them Fix It.
The only thing to be removed when replacing a windshield is the wipers, cowl, mouldings. I could tell you this tho, i seen some dashboard damage due to windshield replacement. This is cause but their elbow when trying to cut the glass from inside or from sitting on the dashboard when applying the application (poly-urethane). If the crack,on the dashboard, is located at the far end near the windshield, then it may be caused by a special tool we use to bang out the corner. That all i could tell you. More likely they will tell you it was like hat before, since you waited. You should have pointed it out right away before you left the shop, but give them a try. Good Luck
Calling Handy People, Again! Need Advice On Screens Doors For Pella Sliding Glass Doors.?

If Yes, Where? (We Do Have An Ace Hardware Plus Lowes, Home Depot Etc)
How Much Do You Think They Will Cost?

Anything Else I Need To Consider?
We Do Have A Dog And A Cat That Scratch To Get In...
Yes, I Could Research This Myself... Don'T Want To Re-Invent The Wheel So To Speak!
And if you have pets that scratch that is the route I would go, and replace the screen with pet proof screen. I bought mine at home depot and have had it in for at least 6 years with two dogs and one cat. now the cat rarely scratches, but one dog freaks at thunder, guns, or loud trucks and claws like mad. the other dog "the inside dog" scratches to get in or out, sometimes every 5 min. it seems, and my screen look like new still.
So go with a decent quality universal replace the screen right from the get go. measure height top to bottom/track to track they adjust so it won't need to be exact. width measure from opening side to just beyond the center mullion, the door should Ideally be that width but as long as it reaches from side to center it should be OK. they come with a latch plate but honestly it's a screen door you could walk right through! Your better off leaving it unlatched so you won't have to repair the screen. Screen never stopped a thief!
If your doors are really high end and have something special for a roller surface then you may have to go to pella, any dealer should be able to get them menards, lowes, whoever and they may even come and measure for you and install it for a fee.
$700 for a screen??!! not on my paycheck!!! under a hundred easy for a universal. Dog screen another $25-30. Even a pella should get done for under $200 unless it's super high end or a 10' door or something.
