Here are some differences between truck glass issues vs. car glass issues.
- Experienced big rig truck drivers recognize that they should not trail other big rigs too closely in bad road conditions. This diminishes the likelihood of rocks kicking up.
- Avoidance is key and truck drivers understand that. Therefore, they typically park in protected areas.
- Your big rig windshield cracks or chips are repaired today.
The kind of insurance policy used in trucking is commercial insurance. And, this insurance will require a high standard relating to truck glass Whenever a truck driver notices a glass problem, they have to get it fixed right away. This will keep their truck in really good status with the commercial insurance policy. Click for Windshield Repair information.
Big rig windshields are built to last. But, if you drive a commercial truck or van, you know that the risk you will face of damage as you log a lot of highway miles is a bit greater than the risk a driver of an economy car will face.

Acura Cl Accident Cost?
I Have An Acura Cl V6, It Was 35K New Off The Lot, But I Bought It Used Last Year For 2800.
The Car Was Absolutely Clean When I Got It, No Dents, No Scratches, Engine Starts On First Turn Even In -10 Degree Weather, Etc.
I Just Pulled Out In Front Of Someone (She Had Blinker On So I Assumed She Was Turning, But Turns Out She Was Turning Into The Street After The One I Was Turning Into), And My Front Quarter Panel Is Absolutely Mangled.
The Front One Is Where I'M Talking About.
The Passenger Side Wheel Is Slightly Hit Inwards, Which Leads Me To Assume That Either The Tie Rod Is Broken Or Something Else. I Haven'T Jacked It Up Yet To Check.
The Passenger Side Fog Light Assembly Is Completely Gone, No Idea Where To Even Get A Replacement As Rockauto.Com Doesn'T Even List Them. The Passenger Side Blinker Assembly Is Gone, But Those Are On Rockauto For 34 Dollars And I Can Put In Myself.
The Bumper Is Slightly Off But I Think It'S Saveable Since It Didn'T Crack.
I Started The Car Up To Back It Into My Garage (From A Tow Truck, As The Cop Told Me It Wasn'T Legal To Drive It The Way It Was). It Purred To Life On The First Twist Of The Key As It Always Does And Backed In No Problem.
So The Major Problems
1. 2 Airbags Deployed (Passenger And Driver) - From What The Tow Truck Driver Said I Can Get Some Used Ones At A Junk Yard And Do It Myself Quite Easily. Also During The Hit I Didn'T Even Touch The Airbags. The Belt Kept Me In Place As Did The Spinning About From The Impact.
2. Quarter Panel Is A Lost Cause. Not Even Sure If A Body Shop Could Save It. But I'M Having Trouble Finding Other Cl'S In My Area To Get One Off Of.
3. Windshield Cracked From The Airbags
4. Tie Rod Broken
5. Blinker Assembly
6. (Maybe? Probably) A New Headlight
7. The Windshield Wiper Fluid Container Is Broken
That'S About It..
The Main Problem Is The Quarter Panel And Airbags..
Also I Only Have Plpd So I Don'T Get Any Money For It From My Insurance.
That SUCKS! :( Im pretty sure thats considered totaled!!!
Need A New Replacement Passenger Door For 2003 Dodge Dakota Base Model 3.9 L?
Why Is There No Inventory For A 2003 Dodge Dakota Passenger Door Replacement ?
I Want To Buy A New Passenger Door For My 2003 Base Model Dodge Dakota 3.9 L Engine. I Have Searched The Internet Over For A New Replacement Door I Could Buy. The Only Alternatives I Have Found Are To Purchase A Used Passenger Door !!! I Do Not Buy Used Parts For Expensive Items I'Ve Bought !!! I Need To Know Of A Site That Offeres A New Manufactured Replacement Passenger Door For My Truck... Auto Sites Only Offer Door Handle Replacements In Their Inventories... Not The Door Itself !!! Which I Find To Be Ignorant. It Is A Interchangeable Part.. Why Is There No Inventory On It ??? There Is Plenty Of Demand For Replacement Doors On This Model... Doors Are A Constant Replaced Part !!! Can Someone Tell Me Where I Can Find A Replacement Door I Can Buy New ???? Or A Site That Offers It ???
Wow I can see the thick smoke of frustration rising from here...
Chrysler has been going through some...shall we say, 'changes' in the past few years, and with that being said, I believe manufacturers are obliged to keep replacement parts for 5 to 7 years. After that, inventory costs alot of money to keep, especially large items like doors. Doors do need replacing, yet the most common items that need to be replaced are the lock mechanisms, hinges, pins, power window motors, etc.
I was actually going to suggest a used door, but since you've already explored that avenue, I won't go there. You may be able to source what is called a 'skin', but if the whole door is damaged, this won't help much, either.
There's a place called 'Car Body Parts', and you can try them: 888 251 1209.
Also, as for the parts being 'interchangeable', usually manufacturers like to keep the lines on the vehicle 'fresh' looking, so sometimes even subtle changes in body design will make this not possible.
Not sure exactly what's wrong with your door, but would an auto-body shop be able to repair it?
If not, and you have no more 'plan B', then wrecking yards (I know, even the sound of it is bad) may be able to find you a 'naked' door, and you could have all the components of your damaged door transplanted into the used shell. That way, it's only kinda used.
http://www.rustrepair.com/ these folks do restoration of what looks like older vehicles, yet most places have suppliers, & they might be able to point you in the right direction.
I hope this helps, good luck!
