How is big rig windshield care different from regular care?
- To stay clear of rocks flying into the rig's windshields, truck drivers usually allow for lots of space between their rig and the truck ahead of them, especially on rough roads.
- Avoidance is important and truck drivers comprehend that. Because of this, they typically park in safeguarded areas.
- Truck drivers are experts. When they do get a chip or crack in their windshields, they get it fixed immediately.
One huge difference, however, is commercial vehicle insurance. Most service vehicles must be in great shape in order to be driven, so truck drivers ought to swiftly address windshield damage to make sure that they do not break the terms of the business vehicle insurance. The glass that goes into a truck is normally a little more tough as opposed to a car's glass. Whilst that may be the case, trucks generally log more highway miles than cars. For that reason the probability of experiencing a glass chip or crack is much higher.

Rear Jeep Tj Window?
I Bought My 2001 Jeep Tj Last Year, And Was Told It Had One Previous Owner, Who Had Never Taken The Hard Top Off And Put The Soft Top Up. As Soon As It Was Nice Out, I Took The Hard Top Off And Managed To Get The Soft Top Up. Problem Is, The Back Window Flaps As There Is No Where To Snap It Into Place. There Are Supposed To Be Guards Or Ridges Of Some Sort (Like There Is On The Sides And Above The Doors - The Flap Folds Into/Under It), But There Are Not. I Do Not Know What They Are Called So Cannot Find Out How To Buy Replacements. Anyone Have Any Idea What They Are Called? Thanks.
Think what you need is called a tailgate retainer bar. It slides onto the bottom of the rear window and clips into the brackets on either side of the tailgate. Quadratec.com has this part.
Ford Focus Rear Window Won'T Stay Up.?
I Have An 02 Focus And The Rear Passagenger Window Will Not Stay Up. I Have Read That It Could Be A Regulator Issue. I Removed The Panel, Etc. And Can See The Problem. I See A Hanging Cable With A Blue Painted Spring Hanging Around. I See The White Clip That Holds The Window In Place To The Slider Thing. The White Clip Appears To Have 2 Fasteners On Each Side To Hold It To The Slide Assembly. Only 1 Fastener Remains And Some Plastic Parts Are At The Bottom Of The Door. It Also Appears That The Channel Sheared Which Kept The Blue Spring/Cable To The Fasterner. Ie, The Spring Cannot Be Secured To The Clip. Motor Works Fine, The Window Just Wont Stay Up.
Question: Can I Buy A Replacement White Plastic Fastener (Junk Yard Or Not). What Is It Called? Connect It To The Slider, Insert The Springs/Cables And Save Myself From Buying A Regulator?
Your window regulator needs to be replaced. On that particular car, the regulator and window motor are serviced as an entire assembly. Go to your local Ford dealer parts department to price one out. They are actually pretty reasonable in price for what you get, if I recall correctly.
What Is The Best Truck To Purchase And Fix Up?
I Am Interested In Purchasing An Old Truck To Haul Yard Waste, And Tow A Small Trailer. Eventually, I'D Like To Buy A Small Boat And Possibly Use This Truck To Tow It To A Near By Lake. I Was Thinking About A 1/2 Ton Truck. Bottom Line, I'D Like To Get A Truck That Is Easy To Work On. I Do Not Have Any Experience Working On Cars/Trucks, So I Would Need To Buy A Chilton'S Guide (And Some More Tools). I Don'T Need Anything Fancy (No Power Locks, No Power Windows). It Can Be Either Auto Or Manual. I'M Looking For Any Suggestions.
