I Have A 2003 Pontiac Grand Am Gt. I Know It Needs A Power Steering Flush, Some Electronic Work For The Turn Signals, There'S A Cracked Belt, Still On Oem Shocks & Struts, And The Windshield Washer Hose Is Broken. Also, Not Sure What It Is, But Whenever I Turn Left, It Makes A Squeak/Squeal Sound As If Something Is Rubbing. I'M Just Wondering How Much Repairs Would End Up Costing And If It'D Be Worth It To Fix Everything Or Just Sell The Car.

How Do You Replace The Rotors On A '89 4Runner(Sr5,4X4,V6)?Do You Have To Remove The Hubs(Automatic Locking),Or Can I Slide The Rotor Off With Only Having To Remove The Brake Caliper?I Know I Might Have To Tap The Rotor As It Might Be A Little Tough To Remove(Original Rotors),But Other Than That What Else Needs To Be Done?Also,Trying To Remove The Caliper I Can'T Get The Back Half(Closest To The Engine)Off.I'Ve Removed Both Slider Pins As Well As The 4 Bolts,But It Still Won'T Come Off.And Finally,My Rear Defroster Doesn'T Work But Everything Else On The Back Window Operates Just Fine.Any Suggestions? Thank You Very Much For Any Help You May Be Able To Provide.

It's a bigger job than you think. The rotors do not just slide off. To get the calipers off you need to pry the brake pads back a little on both sides of the rotor. The caliper and pads should slide off as an assembly. Do not let them hang from the brake hose! Use a coat hanger to hold it up. Un-bolt the auto locking assembly from the hub and remove it. You will see a threaded spindle with a spindle nut on it. I believe you will see 2 Phillips head screws in the nut that need to be removed before attempting to remove the nuts. The nuts look like rings with holes drilled in them. Once you get the fist one off there should be another one under it. Take that one off and the hub,rotor and bearings should just slide off. Do not try this job unless you have a manual ,for assembly needs adjustments when you reassemble it. The wheel bearings need repacking,the inner seal should be replaced. I do this kind of stuff all the time in a shop and it still takes an hour or so a side. NOT ADVISABLE FOR YOUR FIRST ROTOR JOB!

Your in luck. just take it to you nearest GM dealer and say the check engine light came on and now its off and ask for the free GM inspection. You will get a report card of things you can expect to cause you problems. I do them all day long.
