Truck Window Replacement PA 18104
Here are some differences between truck glass issues vs. automobile glass issues.
- To stay clear of rocks flying into the rig's windshields, truck drivers typically allow a lot of space between their rig and the truck ahead of them, especially on rough roads.
- Avoidance is key and truck drivers comprehend that. Because of this, they typically park in safeguarded areas.
- Truck drivers are professionals. As soon as they do get a chip or crack in their windshields, they get it fixed immediately.
Semi truck drivers and big rig truck drivers will hold commercial insurance. Commercial truck insurance policies will have various levels of satisfactory equipment conditions than standard car insurance policies. In order to comply with higher insurance standards, truck drivers must get their glass fixed when they experience an issue. Click for Windshield Replacement information.
Big rig windshields are built to last. Whilst that may hold true, trucks normally log more highway miles than cars. For that reason the probability of experiencing a glass chip or crack is much higher.

Truck Cap Leaking .. 1999 Ford Ranger With Matching Cap.?
When Raining ... Fiberglass Truck Cap Leaking Toward Both Front Cab Corners, Small Dribble But Accumulates After A While. Can I Tighten The Cap Mounting Bolts With Out Cracking Or Causing Damage ... Or ... Should I Take In Into A Repair Shop And Have The Weather Seal Re-Fitted. Also Some Leaks By Side Windows ... Can These Be Silicon-Ed/Caulked To Water Tight? Don'T Want It To Look Like A Hack Job ... Any Thoughts Or Advise. Thanks ... Charles
I have the same truck and setup. The rear window can easily be remove, all you have to do is remove the trimming inside the cab and you will see bunch of little nuts. Those will need to be remove, I believe it is 8 mm socket work best. I would reseal the glass sealer , you can find those at your local auto part. You may want to let sealant dry a little before install. The next thing I would look careful is the 3rd break light above the window. This was my major leaker, I had to just cut rubber and make my own gasket.
As for the leaky bed, I would not tighten the bolt. The would only damage your cover. I would carefully remove the cover and clean the rubber gasket and the bed or install one of those stick on insulator around the lips of the bed.
Clunking In The Rear Portion Of My Of My Truck When I Let Off Of The Brakes?
I Own A 2002 Gmc Sierra Z71 1500, I Have Been Noticing A Slight Clunk In The Rear Of My Truck As I Let Off Of The Breaks After I Have Come To A Stop. I Have A Hunch That It Might Be The Rear Differential I Think It May Be Loose Or Something Is Broken In There Because Sometimes When I Turn Left Sharp The Truck Vibrates. I Have Serviced The Differential 2 Times And I Even Took The Cover Plate Off To Look For Metal Chunks But Found Nothing.
wow, michal s armchair mecqwacknic sorry dude, I have a suburban with similar problems, and it turned out to be a rear u joint, it took me a while to figure it out (two shops, and a dealership did not) Usually the rear ujoint goes out anytime up near a hundred thousand miles, you did not mention the miles on the truck, (this is helpful too) Try this step on the brakes, and put the vehicle in reverse, with your foot on the brake, shift back and forth from reverse to neutral to drive, to neutral to reverse back to neutral to drive, do this five or six times and see if you hear a similar clunking sound.
Ujoints from the factory have no grease nipple and over many years (especially when towing) get a lot of abuse, as I said, the rear one gets a lot of pressure, A rear end going out on a gm vehicle usually gives you lots of funny noises and you will find signs of metal shavings or chunks in the rear end.
U joints are weird, sometimes they work fine for a while, and then you turn a corner and hit the gas just right and get a funny vibration, then you pull over park, and take off and its fine. Generally one cap loses its bearings as they dry out and powder into dust, this leaves just a bit of play, My ujoint just kept getting worse over a few thousand miles, my mechanic, and the dealer ship did not think that was what it was, but I was, and I put a friend who had hot rods in the past on the passenger side and had him listen with the window down, and he said ujoint. I just told my mechanic to fix the ujoint, and when he pulled it apart it was clear it had a problem. You can also get under the truck and take a long screwdriver and carefully check for play by prying in a way to see if there is movement next to an end cap, and also to actually grab the drive shaft and move it up and down , twist side to side looking for play. If you do it yourself, its best to have some help form someone who has done one, they are not hard, but there are some minor tricks that make the job easier, and when you buy a ujoint they do not come with instructions and are not greased.
If you replace a ujoint, make sure your mechanic gets a heavy duty one, because oem replacements are crap.Spend the extra money on a good strong ujoint, and it will outlast what ever you can do to it.
Looking For Advice On A Ford Ranger?
I Know This May Be A Weird Question, But I Found The Perfect Truck, But It Has Manual Windows And Locks. Can They Install After Market Pw'S And Pl'S?? How Much Would This Cost Me?? Could I Do It Myself?? Your Help Is Appreciated?
Yes!! They can install electric window and door locks. You can get the kits from the dealership that work the best. Or you can look around and find aftermarket kits. If you had a problem of a window motor going out. It is easier to get Ford parts than aftermarket. Or reset the key for the locks. I have seen to many aftermarket parts that you cannot find replacement parts. So keep that in mind. They write it up so you will know the full cost up front.
