How is big rig windshield care different from regular care?

  • To avoid rocks flying into the rig's windshields, truck drivers normally allow for ample space between their rig and the truck ahead of them, especially on tough roads.
  • Semi truck drivers park in safe areas away from natural hazards or potential vandals.
  • Truck drivers are experts. When they do get a chip or crack in their windshields, they get it repaired promptly.

Semi truck drivers and big rig truck drivers will hold commercial insurance. Commercial truck insurance policies will have various levels of satisfactory equipment conditions than standard car insurance policies. Most service vehicles must be in tip-top shape to be driven, so truck drivers ought to quickly address windshield damage to make sure that they do not break the terms of the business vehicle insurance policy. The glass that goes into a truck is generally a little more tough as compared to a car's glass. But, if you drive a commercial truck or van, you understand that the risk you will face of damage as you log a lot of highway miles is a bit greater than the risk a driver of an economy car will face.

Two Days Ago I Turned My Car Heater To Melt The Ice On My Windshield And I Heard A Cracking Noise. When The Ice Melted, I Saw My Windshield Crack Like 14 Inches Long. I Talked To My Car Insurance And They Told Me I Have To Pay $500 (Participation Fee) For Them To Fix It. Also, My Car Insurance Is Hartfort. I Live In Gaithersburg 20879, Maryland. If You Know A Good Windshield Replacement Somewhere Near Here, Can You Recommend It For Me And How Much Will It Cost Me. Thank You In Advance

What Is The Proper Way To Take Out The Door Panels On A 2002 Honda Civic Lx Coupe?
Im Trying To Install Replacement Power Side Mirrors =)

I used to own a 2002 Honda Civic EX Coupe. Here is what you do.

Where the plastic covering is behind the mirror, simply take a flathead and easily pry it off, it should pop fairly easily.

Then, pop the tab off behind the door lever with a flathead. There are two phillips screws behind that. The plastic around the door handle may now be removed by sliding it out. You can work it to fit through the hole made for it when you take the panel off, or you can just simply pop the small plastic tab on the metal bar inside that latches to the door handle. Either way, choice is yours.

Next pop the tab in the door tray (where you pull the door shut), there is another phillips screw in there as well.

Now take your flathead driver and pry the hard plastic that is on top of the door pull, surrounding the window switches and pry it up. Start from the back portion and work your way up. It should pop off and then slide out from the very front part.

Now disconnect the power to the switches by taking off the clip connector.

If you look at the open area now that you just pried off, you will see two gold/brass colored phillips screws. Remove these next.

Now the easy part, take your flathead to the lower rear corner of the door and slide it between the metal and the plastic door panel. Once you get a few to pop work your way on the bottom portion to the front. Now you can get both hands on the sides and pull gently until they pop as well. Then lift the whole door panel up so that it pops out of the lower window track.

Be careful when putting it back in, the hardest part is making sure you line up the unlock/lock button on the top rear of the door so it slides on smooth.
