Here are some distinctions between truck glass issues vs. automobile glass issues.

  • Experienced big rig truck drivers understand that they must not trail other big rigs too closely in bad road conditions. This reduces the likelihood of rocks kicking up.
  • Prevention is key and truck drivers comprehend that. Thus, they typically park in protected areas.
  • Truck drivers are specialists. The moment they do get a chip or crack in their windshields, they get it fixed right away.

The kind of insurance coverage used in trucking is commercial insurance. And, this insurance will require a high standard concerning truck glass Most service vehicles must be in tip-top shape to be driven, so truck drivers ought to promptly address windshield damages to make sure that they do not break the terms of the business vehicle insurance. The glass that goes into a truck is normally a little more tough as compared with a car's glass. Don't let that fool you. Although the glass may be tougher, trucks spend more time on the road. Therefore, they are at greater risk of getting chips and cracks in their windshield.

Cracked Dashboard On A 2002 Stratus!!?
So The Dashboard On My Stratus Cracked And Its On The Panel And Near The Vents By The Windshield In The Front I Have Read This Is Common But Did Anyone Get This Fixed If So How??!

auto shops that specialize in interior repair can repair some of the damage to it,we have few done once in a while that aren't to messed up,or you can use a dash cap on it,either one works.

Is My 2008 Dodge Avenger Totaled?
Well The Fronts Pretty Bad But On The Back Only The Bumper And Both Tail Lights Are Gone. The Engine Looks Fine And So Does The Frame The Windshield Is Crack And All The Air Bags Went Off No Side Or Roof Damage. I Can Send Pictures So Please Help Me Out Im Going Crazy.

First of all. A car is only totaled if:

1.) The car is no longer driveable (even with extensive repairs)
[example: car caught fire and burnt the entire vehicle]
2.) The cost of repairs is larger than the value of the vehicle
[example: $30 000 car needs $35 000 in repairs after accident, this is for your insurance company to decide]

Just because the airbags deployed does not mean its totaled.

I hope you were not injured.

I hope this helped

EDIT:
I work at a Chrysler Jeep Dodge dealership.
After looking at those pictures, I came to the conclusion that it is NOT totaled.
-The hood will probably be around 1000$
-The bumper, grill and frontal area will be 3500$
-Now, this is by you judging that the motor is intact, so the engine is 0$.
-Both side wings (near wheels) will be around 1500$ together (Unfortunately, you must replace the entire section)
-Windshield is about 250$
-The rear bumper is $1500
-Tail lights are 350$ for a pair.
-You might have bent the axel, broken a rim. You might have to get that realigned. But the body work is not what you should be worried about. The engine, transmission, driving shaft, radiator, axel and other parts are going to be the most expensive. But keep in mind you said it didnt seem damaged.

I hope you will be fine.

Probably around $10 000 (with tax). This Avenger looks pretty new, is it an 2008 Dodge Avenger SXT (base version, there is also the R/T). Sale price of a new one is about 21 000$. This means that with depreciation, it is worth around $17 000. Therefore it is NOT totaled. By the way, all prices are in Canadian Dollars (I live in Montreal).

Ive seen quite a few damaged cars in the garage/delearship. I have seen (among others, but the most damaged one (there are actually 2)):

-A 2005 Dodge Ram 2500, which was towing a trailer, flipped over and crashed. The trailer then smacked into the rear of the truck. Everything was like your side wings (the bulge over the front wheels, on the side of the car, a continuation of the bumper) but amplified 10 times. This was everywhere on the truck, not just the front and rear, but the top sides, windshield, everywhere. It was not totaled.

-A brand new 2008 Ford Mustang GT (which was modified) got hit by hail from a hailstorm (the hail was a bit bigger than the size of a golf ball). The hood and roof were badly damaged. But the hail hit the entire surface of the car. It was not totaled.

But in both cases, the engine, etc... was not affected. Let me know how this ends

Replacing Front Windshield 1986 Volvo 740?
Ok Guys/Girls This Is A 2 Part Question. okay cheapo here goes.
First go to a junk yard and get the windshield. they should have one laying around and it will be relatively inexpensive. No more than $100 bux alright? Then Inspect it and make sure the edges are clean of all rubber insulation and debris.
Second.- and here's where you can be cheap and smart at the same time. Okay-
you need a coat wire hanger.
straighten it out.
Sharpen a point on one end and heat this point up with a lighter or torch whatever.
then.. after it glows red hot you insert it into the rubber molding between the windshield and the sheet metal.
Now the other end of wirehanger you are gonna attach a thinner standard copper wire.
you are now gonna pull the wire hanger clear across to the other side making sure you thread the rubber molding. Now it gets fun . you move the wire back and forth back and forth and so on ....until you go completely around the entire windshield. You may need a real long wire to do this and you might ask someone to help you if you need to but you can do this by yourself since I did this also. Do not attempt to lift the windshield until you finish tracing the whole thing. okay. when you are finished tracing it gently push the windshield from the inside out.Be Careful !! Its real heavy. Now you can throw that one out and install the new one.
But first make sure you remove all the excess rubber and adhesive and debris. Then you want to sand the groove a little taking off a little rust, paint, or dirt.
Blow the dirt off and go get your self a new rubber molding and some industrial waterproff adhesive.APPLY the waterproof adhesive stuff and let it dry a little like two minutes. Put the new molding around the new windshield it should fit nice and snug. GENTLY LOWER THE Windshield and place it in its space. Press it into the adhesive in and should be able almost to snap it in the slot. Once its in and its tight you may have to apply anothet bit of that sealant stuff just to make sure it don't leak. Apply thourughly cause at sixty miles an hour in the rain you don't want no whistle or leak. Now when you're sure it set and its nice and dry go ahead and put the stainless cover molding back on Take it to a car wash or hose the beast down to see if leaks. If it doesnt which it shouldnt, Congratulations!!! If it leaks take the stainless cover off and apply more sealant around the outside of the windshield. Apply some on the inside of the windshield too. That should take care of it.
Good luck. It worked on my Volvo.
I had A 760 Turbo Intercooler.
