What Is The Best Way To Get Bird Droppings Off The Windshield And Roof Of A Car?
I Can'T Get To The Car Wash Right Away. I Parked Under A Tree For The Day, And Disaster!!! The Birds Must Have Had Prune Juice Or Something Cause They Made A Major Mess All Over The Place. Please Help! How Can I Get The Stuff Off?
You want to keep two things in the trunk of your car - a terry cloth towel and a bottle of Meguiar's Quick Detailer - http://www.meguiars.com/?car-maintenance...
Just spray the mess with the detailer and wipe off. Whatever you do, don't use Windex! A bucket of soapy water will work, but if you are looking for a quick, easy and transportable solution, the Quick Detailer is what you want.
Can A Auto Repair Shop Hold My Car For Pmt If They Didn'T Disclose The Type And Amt Of The Diagnostic Test?
I Had My Car Towed To A Repair Shop In Chicago (87Th Cottage Grove) By Aaa Around 1/13/2010. The Car Had Sat A Week In The 1St Heavy Snow Of The Year. After The Car Was Taken Off Of The Tow Truck, I Put The Key In The Ignition, And It Started. I Put My Keys Along With A Detailed Letter About What Was Wrong With The Car, In The Night Drop Box. I Had Called The Shop That Day And Talked To The Desk Clerk, Who Instructed Me Where To Leave The Keys. I Decided To Leave A Detailed Letter Explaining What Was Wrong. I Kept A Copy Of The Letter. I Had Used The Repair Shop Before For An Oil Change, So They Had My Contact Information, In Addition To My Contact Info On The Letter. They Have A Sign In The Window Saying A Diagnostic Test Costs $39.99. I Called For 3 Days, Asking When The Car Would Be Checked Out. They Finally Checked The Car Out And Told Me That The Problem Was The Motor. They Told Me Another Motor Would Cost $1,800. Or They Said I Would Have To Pay $100.00 For The Diagnostic Test, Which Is $60.00 More Than The Sign Says In The Window. I Never Signed Anything, And Now They Say I Have To Pay Storage Charges, In Addition To The $100.00 For The Test. I'M Willing To Pay The $39.99 Price For The Test As Advertised In The Window, So Aaa Can Tow My Car To My Home. What Can I Do?
File a complaint with the Bureau of Automotive Repair. They will investigate, and I'll bet the shop decides to lower the bill when they find out about it.
P.S. Normally, when you drop off a car for repairs, they are required to give you an estimate, and you agree and sign it. YOUR circumstances were a little different. YOU should have told them on your written instructions "CHECK OUT AND CALL BEFORE DOING REPAIRS" then you would have them on the line and you could have asked about charges.
I DO agree that the price they charged for a posted 39. service was wrong. Or, maybe there are details we don't know about.
Used Car Insurance?
If You Get Insurance For A Used Car, Will They Still Fix Your Windsheild?
From your question I take it that you bought the used car and it had a crack in the windsheild, so in that case they will not fix it. However some companies I have been with are extremely lazy and have not even done a check of my car or made me show them a vehcile inspection for insurance. So they would have no clue when the crack happened...
However if you had glass coverage and it got cracked after you purchased the car then yes they would fix it.
What Happens When Bug Touch The Windshield Of Fast Moving Car?
Bug Is Moving With Some Velocity And It Touched The Windshield Of The Fast Moving Car.Now Is Bug Die Or Wind Shield Will Broken Or Nothing Will Happen To Either,Explain This Interms Of Physics Words Inertis, Mass, Speed.Inertia Is Directly Propotional To Mass,Speed
This concept is directly related to momentum. The car wins because its mass times its velocity is much greater than the mass of the bug times the velocity of the bug. After the collision, because:
(mass of car)(velocity of car) >> (mass of bug)(velocity of bug)
the car is unaffected by the bug hitting the windshield.
And here's something a little amusing. You can actually calculate the velocity the bug would have to be going if it were to stop the car. In this case, it would be:
(mass of car)(velocity of car) = (mass of bug)(velocity of bug)
[(mass of car)(velocity of car)] / (mass of bug) = velocity of bug
Suppose the mass of the car is 1,000 kg and is moving 30 m/s (67 miles per hour) and the bug weighs 100 grams. Then to stop the car, the bug would need to be going:
[(1000 kg)(30 m/s)] / (0.100 kg) = 300,000 m/s or 670,000 miles per hour.
