How To Extend The Life Of A Laptop Battery?
Stupid Question?

1,Remove the battery pack from the laptop if you do not use your laptop for extended periods of time (a week or more).
2,Do not expose the battery to high heat or freezing temperatures. Do not leave your battery in your car in the summer. Hot batteries discharge very quickly, and cold ones can't create as much power.
3,Plug your laptop charger adapter into a UPS and not directly into a power outlet or surge protector.
4,If you have a nickel-metal hydride battery, completely drain and recharge the battery once a month to maximize its capacity to hold a charge.
5,Fully charge new battery packs before use. A new battery needs to be fully charged and discharged (cycled) a few times before it can condition to full capacity.
6,For laptops that work as a desktop replacement, reinstall the battery every 3-4 weeks and allow it to discharge fully .
7,Do not leave a battery in a laptop while using an electrical outlet for long periods of time. This will keep the battery in a constant state of charging up and that will reduce the life cycle of the battery.
8,Adjust screen brightness. If you use Windows on your laptop, there is a Power Options option in Control Panel that helps you optimize power usage. You can set the laptop to become inactive when not in use for quite some time. It is also possible to adjust the display brightness on the laptop. This may allow prolonged battery life.
9,Program Overload. Run only the programs you are using at the time of use. Programs that run in the background use more system resources and drain laptop battery life.
10,Keep a spare battery: A good idea is to have a spare battery. Batteries are affordable these days and easily purchased online from electronics sites. Have at least one fully charged at all times for a quick battery change. Some laptops can run with two batteries. Some laptops are also compatible with external batteries that can be easily added when necessary.

Buying My First Car.?
I Am Trying To Buy My First Car, And Am Going More Towards Buying A Used Car But I Am So Confused On What To Look For Like, Mileage Etc Can Someone Help

Smart to be buying a used car. Financial advisers say buy a car that is at least 2 years old.
1. Whether from a lot or individual, have them pull a "Carfax" on the car. This will show if there have been any wrecks and such (I recommend NOT buying a car that has been wrecked and repaired). Not all things will show on a carfax, but if from an individual seller, ask to see receipts of regular oil changes, tire purchases etc.
2. The tread on the tires...turn a penny upside down (Pres. Lincolns head) and see if tread is as deep to align with top of his head....if so, tread on tires is good.
3. Test drive (if from and individual, make sure someone you know rides with you), make sure windows, locks, radio, lights (check from outside the car), windshield wipers, etc work
4. Then mileage....mileage is all about the brand of the vehicle in my opinion. As a single woman purchasing vehicles on my own for many years (always used). My experience has been that if all above checks out on the vehicle, then you are smart to buy vehicle in the Japanese family of automobiles (Toyota, Lexus, Honda, ACCURA). I have purchased a Lexus with 60,000 miles before and it was great and sold it with it retaining a good value with many more miles on it. My current Lexus I purchased with 88,000 miles (and the timing belt had just been changed - important to be sure that is done between 80k-100k miles).
NOTE: If buying a used car. I recommend buying one from the dealers lot (example: if a used Honda, buy from a Honda Dealer). These dealers have repeat customers who trade their old honda for a new Honda. The dealer makes their money on the new purchase vehicle and gives very little toward the trade-in car. They don't want an overstock of a ton of trade-ins on their used lots so they "mark" many to be sent to auction. You let a new car dealer sales person that you click with, that you want them to let you know when they get a trade-in on a new vehicle purchase...that you would like first dibs on the trade-in. Don't take the trade-in as is....some will want to sell it to you that way. NO. You have them check it over, clean up and tweak anything that needs tweaking (ie, a new timing belt if over 80k miles) and it's not necessary that it be "certified" by them if that is going to cost you lots more for them to do so. They will typically do better by selling to you than they will sending it to an auction where another random dealer will buy for a lower price so he can turn around and put on his lot for a profit.
ALSO, check the NADA value on a specif vehicle before you purchase to be sure you are not being over charged. It will list the price range to be expected based on several variables. So be sure to check the NADA value books (at library and Barnes & Noble). Never buy car on your first visit. Sleep on it. Just my thoughts in hopes to offer you some help in your purchase. HYUNDAI has also been rated as a good purchase and reasonable. Avoid, avoid, avoid the Kia....very bad buy.
